Chances are if you have ever watched the intro to “Bay Watch” you have seen the Hirsh 37’ in her past life, as a 34 Scarab Super Sport, although she is no longer Yellow, and David Hasselhoff will not be your captain; sorry bay watch fans :(

Born and raised in the boating business Mike has always had a passion for everything boats. Over the years going through multiple boats, and fishing countless tournaments in the offshore waters of Bradenton, and Sarasota, Florida, Mike decided to finally build a custom boat that had all the characteristics that he wanted in a custom boat; he built custom boats for his clients all the time, so it was only natural to do the same for his custom boat project.

Mike did not have to think too long about what this boat needed to have, he had already spent 20 years hashing it out. The boat would need to have a long range and be able to handle the worst of sea conditions, because when you’re a tournament fisherman you cannot plan your trip around the weather, it would also have to be fast, yet economical, and it would have to be able to run at speed through the waves comfortably and safely, when Mike came across a 34 Scarab supper sport, he knew right away that he had found the hull for his ideal boat

The 34 Super sport was the Southern California life guard boat for good reason, besides its good looks, it was fast, seaworthy, and able to cut through the surf like a knife (all important attributes for a vessel that must save lives in all types of sea conditions), and with a major overhaul all good attributes for The Hirsh charter boat.

Being privy to all the latest modern boat building techniques, and having access to all the latest and greatest construction materials, Mike took the top deck off, cut out the floor, stringers fuel tanks and transom so that he could build everything, just the way he wanted it. New beefier Stringers where installed and extended 3’ out of the back to give the hull ad engine bracket incredible strength. Fuel capacity was increased form 250 Gallons to 310, the floor was replaced with light weight composite coring finished off in comfortable solid teak surfaces, and every cavity was filled with high density foam to make the boat unsinkable. A large seating area was added forward and the bulky center console was replaced with a sleek custom side console made, finished off in high gloss teak, with a high flow 90 gallon live well integrated into the seating, overall the new Layout improved seating, retained the cabin space and head forward, added tournament fishing capabilities.

After a year and a half of constant detection to a vision, the Hirsh 37’ was born just in time to compete in her first offshore fishing tournament where she took second place with a White Marlin, a 45LB Tuna, 35 LB Dorado, and a 50 LB Amber Jack, and she has been raising fish ever since.
